The first public build is out for Corona, a tool as billed as an alternative to V-Ray. It will be free to use commercially until the end of 2014 and supports CINEMA 4D R14 and up.
You can download the alpha and try it out, but they recommend that you read more about it to make sure you know what you’re getting yourself into 🙂 After it’s installed, Corona Renderer is added to available renders in CINEMA 4D renderer list and “Classic” cameras are supported. There’s a lot more to know, so read all about Corona here.
The developers are using the principle of Artist Driven Development, so if you do use it, give them your feedback so that they can taylor the release to what artists are really needing!
